【 TCS Experiential Learning Friday:Life Education】

TCS Staff

Last week, TCS High School welcomed a special guest teacher—Ms. Rice, a remarkable dog dedicated to promoting life education. Accompanied by her owner, Mr. Miba, Ms. Rice advocates for pet-friendly values and the importance of compassion toward animals.

To date, Ms. Rice has participated in over 700 tour events, where she serves as a professional "dog teacher." Through interacting with Ms. Rice, students learn about acquiring, caring for, playing with, bonding with, and even saying goodbye to pets.

During the session, Miba emphasized the importance of respecting pets' feelings. For example, if a dog is not with its owner, no matter how cute or small it is, students should not approach it, as we cannot know its past experiences. Ignoring the pet's feelings would mean only satisfying our own needs. This is similar to how students dislike being touched by strangers—pets, too, are just enduring it.

Miba also led students in reflecting on animal protection issues in Taiwan, stressing the responsibility of pet owners. He reminded them that owning a pet is not just a passing interest, but a lifelong commitment. Through lessons like these, we hope to foster a deeper respect for life in our students!
