Our TCS Experiential Learning Friday (#ELF) program recently took a journey to Longgang Zhong-Zhen Village, transporting students back to a time of chaos and turmoil. The "Yunnan-Burma Border Guerrilla Force" is a lesser-known special military force. After the end of the Chinese Civil War, with the national government relocating to Taiwan, this force remained behind and patrolled the borders of Myanmar and Yunnan, tirelessly fighting until their eventual retreat to Taiwan. They settled in the "Zhong-Zhen Village" in Taoyuan, which has now become an area rich in Yunnan cuisine and the revitalized spirit of military dependents' villages!
In addition to visiting the historical museum, students also experienced making Yunnan rice noodles and participated in group shooting competitions, immersing themselves in a cultural feast from the Golden Triangle!
