One of the most meaningful parts of our recent service trip to Fengli Elementary School was that every activity was planned and led by our Social Service Club students themselves. From the very start, they took full initiative — carefully designing interactive games, organizing materials, and thinking about how to truly connect with the children of Fengli.
During the visit, our students thoughtfully divided the group into three age-based teams (G1-2, G3-4, G5-6) to ensure every child felt seen and included. They led engaging and laughter-filled English activities like Red Light, Green Light, Broken Telephone, Musical Chairs, Simon Says, and even a lively PE time featuring volleyball and movement games. Every detail — from planning to leading — was done by the students.
Through this experience, our Social Service club members shared that, for the first time, they felt they were truly serving the community — not just giving, but really connecting and helping others. They learned to collaborate not only with their peers but also with the younger students at Fengli Elementary School, creating a space of warmth, laughter, and mutual learning.
💌 This journey was an extension of our club’s “Shoebox of Love Project,” but the meaning it brought went far beyond simply giving gifts. It became a real-life lesson in empathy, teamwork, and meaningful service. Many students shared that through this experience, they realized even the smallest actions can create real change — and because of this, they’ve decided to continue this service project. They hope to return to Fengli Elementary School next year to nurture the friendship they’ve newly built.
It wasn’t just an activity — it was a connection, a commitment, and a beginning.
